Ontario Trillium flowers painted with ink and watercolours in rice paper. The trilliums are rich burgundy red, the photo doesn't show it well enough. In nature, red trilliums have a stunning colour, they are less frequently seen than the white ones and are absolutely gorgeous. Humble Trilliums are a provincial flower of Ontario, they show up in May all around the province. The painting is my take on these lovely wild flowers, known mostly in North America and less so to the outside world.

Some interesting background: in the olden days trilliums were used in medicine, red trilliums were used by Native Indians as a pigment.

The painting is signed, sealed, and mounted on backing paper. It is ready to be framed. Please note that colours may differ due to difference in devices. The painting is manually cut, please leave a few mm error margin for dimensions. Please use acid-free materials and adhesives for framing.
