Japanese maple tree branch painting. Ink and watercolour on rice paper. This particular artwork was inspired by the woodblock prints of Edo and colours of the fall. Maple trees are a traditional subject in Japanese art. The maple festivals are celebrated throughout Japan from October to December, rivalling in popularity with sakura hanami (cherry blossoms in spring).
The painting is wet-mounted on another sheet of backing paper, signed, sealed with artist's personal seal and ready to be framed or mounted on a scroll. Please use acid-free adhesives when framing. The painting is manually cut, please leave a few mm error margin for dimensions. Colours may differ due to differences in devices.
