The calligraphy inscription is a haiku poetry by Kobayashi Issa:

花の陰

赤の他人は

なかりけり

[hana no kage / aka no tanin wa / nakari keri]

which translates as: 

Under the cherry blossomsstrangers are notreally strangers.

The painting is signed, sealed, wet-mounted on backing rice paper and ready to be framed or mounted on a silk scroll. Please use acid-free adhesives when framing.
