Bamboo and orchids. Set of two paintings on handmade Japanese washi. Washi has a pleasant off-white colour, the images don't quite show it. Orchids and bamboo are part of the "four gentlemen" (or "four nobles") of traditional Chinese ink painting, together with plum blossoms and chrysanthemums.

Both subjects are attributed to a season and have symbolic interpretation of Confucian virtues:
- Orchid is associated with feminine, spring beauty and integrity of character;
- Bamboo - bright green in summer - symbolizes good luck, moral integrity, modesty, tenacity, and strong character.

Paintings are signed, sealed with artist's personal seal, wet-mounted on backing rice paper and ready to be framed or mounted on a silk scroll. Please use acid-free adhesives when framing. The paintings are manually cut, please leave a few mm error margin for dimensions. Colours may differ due to differences in devices.
